Today (13 october 2015) is the death anniversary of Kishore Kumar (4 august 1929- 13 october 1987). Kishore Kumar wanted to be a playback singer, but he found himself getting signed up as an actor. Though he acted in lots of movies and made his mark in that role as well, his heart was in singing. But he could only sing for himself and Dev Anand.
Kishore Kumar waited for two decades. His career was going nowhere. Just when it appeared that it was the end of the road for him that the big breakthrough came for him. His songs in “Padosan”(1968), followed by “Aradhana”(1969) catapulted him to the very tin that op among male playback singers and the existing hierchy of male playback singers got thrown out of the proverbial window.
Kishore Kumar grabbed his opportunities with both hands and stayed at the top for the next 17 years till his death in 1987 on this day.
As a tribute of Kishore Kumar, here is a song from “Aakraman”(1975). This song is sung by Kishore Kumar. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Laxmikant Pyarelal.
